Education programmes

Sports classes with linguistic preparation

This education programme lasts for five years. The first, linguistic preparatory year is automatically followed by four years of secondary sports school. The requirements for admission include an elementary school certificate, a successful entrance exam and a fitness test by which basic sports skills are measured.
During the preparatory year our pupils have to learn two languages (they have English or German as first foreign language in 14 lessons a week and the other in 4 lessons a week). They also have IT lessons three times a week. The rest of their lessons (altogether 10%) are Hungarian Grammar and Literature and Maths. At the end of the school term the pupils need to pass an exam held in our school in their chosen first foreign language.
The timetables for the next four years depend largely on the fact that our pupils have trainings to attend. Furthermore, they have an increased number of PE lessons to be able to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge which are inevitable for the final exam. During the preparatory year and the second year our pupils go swimming on a weekly basis to keep healthy and fit. In the last two years they have to choose at least one subject which they wish to learn in two additional lessons at advanced level.
The final exam consists of Hungarian, Maths, History, one foreign language and one chosen subject.

General secondary grammar school

This education programme lasts for four years. Although many children entering this form of education have no plans whatsoever to continue their studies, we want them to have the chance to make the decision later and get a place at a college or university. Therefore, our pupils have an increased number of lessons in Maths, the first foreign language and History. In the last two years they need to choose two subjects in which they receive training at advanced level (one from among Hungarian, Maths, History and foreign languages, the other from among IT, Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Physics and PE).
The final exam consists of Hungarian, Maths, History, one foreign language and one chosen subject.
